Ladies Group and Bible Study
The Ladies Group meets each Tuesday afternoon from 2-4.00pm at the Chapel. We are a very diverse group of up to 10 women who spend the time sharing our lives together and following a regular Bible Study Program. At present we are using Navigators material on the subject of Disappointment which is proving stimulating and personally challenging. We try to have some time at the end for prayer and needs are shared amongst the group for ongoing prayer support. It is a warm, friendly open gathering and any ladies with an afternoon to spare are most welcome even if they are not churchgoers.

Men's group
The men’s group is open to all adult male members of the congregation.
It meets on Tuesday evenings, once a month, most frequently at Lawrence Wong’s apartment near metro Brotteaux, but also at Roy Carpenter’s and Phil Ho’s houses. The purpose of the group is to
provide a forum for men to meet and discuss issues related to Christianity or the church amongst themselves while sharing food and fellowship. For more information, feel free to contact Lawrence Wong (lawrence1202@gmail.com), Roy Carpenter (royfcarpenter@gmail.com), Laurent Dominici (laurentdominici@wanadoo.fr) or Philip Ho (lisandphilipho@yahoo.co.uk).

Worship Group Fellowship
The Worship Group Fellowship meets periodically on a week day evening.
The group consists of members, or potential members, of the worship group which leads the music and worship part of the Sunday morning church service. The group aims to study and meditate on God's word together, to grow together as a group, to support, pray for and encourage one another in fellowship and, through praise and prayer, to learn how to worship God better. Although we do sing and play music together, these meetings are not intended to be practice sessions; music practice is organized separately on a monthly basis to practice musical and singing arrangements for the coming weeks or to learn new songs.
Anyone wishing to become a member of the Worship Group and willing to participate on a regular basis is welcome to join.

Friday Open House
Friday Open House takes place about once a month, and is held, usually on the last Friday evening of the month, at the Vicarage. Access by public transport is possible; lifts can often be arranged.
The idea behind Open House is to provide an opportunity for students, young people, families and older members of the congregation to meet each other, and for newcomers to be welcomed in an informal setting.
The evening usually begins with a bring-and-share meal, or one or two people cook a main course for the rest. As well as enjoying food and fellowship, there is usually a theme for discussion or a thought-provoking passage of Scripture to discover followed by a time of prayer.
All are welcome.

Baby Friendly Group
The Baby Friendly group, otherwise known as the “Wah, wah, wah, Thank God it’s Friday” coffee tea or milky morning meets every Friday morning in the village of Chaponost around 9 to 11am (flexible time as babies require), 20 minutes drive from Lyon and accessible by TCL bus 103 from Perrache. We welcome suggestions for Christian parenting books, and would love to hear from mums who have survived young childhood and early teens, who are welcomed to come and share with us one Friday, please let us know! We are also open to share and exchange baby clothes and related material, and survival tips. And finally, it’s a baby friendly group but all are welcomed, with or without babies, we tend to talk about them but
they’re not all we’re interested in!

The Marriage Course
(See also www.themarriagecourse.org )
A series of 7 evenings for couples who have been together for at least 2 years. Each session begins with a candle-lit meal to allow couples to enjoy some relaxed time with each other. Then there is a presentation on one aspect of marriage with time for couples to consider how this relates to their own relationship through exercises specifically designed for the purpose. (There is no group sharing. )
Themes covered are building strong foundations, communication. resolving conflict, forgiveness, in-laws, good sex and love in action. Participants are encouraged to set aside time during the week to continue looking at the issue, given that time on the evening itself is limited. The course can help any couple, whether they consider they have a 'good' marriage or whether they feel they have difficult issues between them. It can be painful when hurts and misunderstandings are brought to the surface, as some couples have found, but it is through addressing the difficult areas that we can make our marriages better.
Though the Marriage Course is unashamedly based on Christian values, it can benefit those of any faith or none. The course is run in English with some French subtitles and French manuals to help mixed nationality couples to be able to benefit from the course. There are also courses run in French ("Elle et Lui") by other churches in and around Lyon (St. Nizier, La Rédemption/St. Pothin in the 6ème, Charpennes in Villeurbanne, L'Eglise Evangélique du 3ème, and Catholic parishes in Irigny, Mornant, Vienne, Beaujeu).
One husband said after following the course: "This course and the time we were able to spend together learning to love each other better, have been real life savers."
We hope to run another course in the autumn.
